As we were kid free for the weekend and the future mother-in-law was away me and the other half went and stayed in Kent. A quick scan of Otterham Quay saw around 100 Black-Tailed Godwits and a fly over Turtle Dove which was a nice surprise. A couple of hours was then spent at nearby Riverside CP. After waiting for 20 minutes for it to stop raining we ventured out and some of the first birds I found were 7 Black Terns just offshore. These were closely followed by a juvenile Marsh Harrier that flew East. Also present were 4+ Whimbrel, 12 Little Egrets, 40+ Common Terns that flew South, Reed Warbler, Hobby and a Sparrowhawk that was annoying 50+ Swallows over the car park but another Turtle Dove that sat in view for 20-30 seconds was the highlight.
