Of note today was the return of the male Mandarin, 10 Swift including a pair mating were overhead, 2 Swallow over and 2 Whitethroat were singing (behind the bowls club and in the Northern part of the nature reserve). A Kingfisher was heard in the nature reserve aswell but the highlight was a family party of Long-Tailed Tits of which 1 of the little juvs flew out of a hedge and nearly hit me in the head!!
At home a Goldcrest landed on the washing line about 3 feet from me as I was getting in the washing!
